I live in Rotorua, New Zealand.
I raced bikes in the 70s, track and road, then took up mountain biking for a laugh. I started riding a road bike again in about 1995, and didn't really like what I could buy in a shop. One of my mates I ride mountain bikes with is a walking encyclopedia of cycling called David Benson, who builds the occasional frame in his spare time. He started making bikes for himself, then track frames for proteges, along the way my road frame. It was built in 2000, and kitted out with Campag Daytona. It has enough room in the frame for 32mm tyres, and it is long and slack for superb handing and comfort, and the occasional off-tarmac jaunt. The only special parts are the Salsa steel stem I had painted to match frame, and the St.Christophers medal from the Madonna de Ghisallo that David got for me when he was in Italy to do L'Eroica.
